Hello. I have a 1998 malibu. I am having problems with my wipers, they wont turn off, unless i turn the car off. I picked up a new wiper motor for $20. Any one know where the old motor is located so I can change it out myself? And is it an easy job? Thanks

Have you checked the relays?

The relays are on / near the firewall. There are 2 - 3 that look similar (black) and they control several different functions (fuel pump relay, wiper relay, etc.). What we do is swap one out with the other and see how it performs.

It is on the firewall. There are several similar items. They are all relays.

I looked at the firewall and did not see any fuses or relays.... :-( Only place i see fuses or relays is under the hood in the fuse relay center, and when i open my front doors behind the panels. Like I said I have a 98 malibu.

probably not a relay problem, this is a park problem, sounds like a motor, but could be a switch. motor is probably under the cowl at the base of the windsheild, have to remove the wiper arms first, then the black plastic cowl.

Yeah you are right - I was off. One of those relays is the wiper relay and it is the same as another one - I forget which one. Any way switch it out and see what happens.
