Help needed for monte

Could not start 2001 monte today. Turn key and nothing. No power execpt check engine light. Hood or trunk wont even open. After I removed key car kept making clicking noise every 4 or 5 sec and would not stop. I tried again with car in neutral still nothing but clicking stopped after shut off. Any help would be great. Also is there a manual hood release? Thanks.

Welcome to AF. The hood release is only manual, don't know of any other oe device to open it, l/s lower kick panel handle says hood, hard to believe you've never opened the hood this way. Look for poor battery cable connections, bad ground.

I've opened hood many times but it just would'nt pop today. Finally got it open and checked connections - look fine. Clicking sound is coming thru speakers.
