What color is this?

I know some of you guys really know your paints (you paint makers).

I think that color is what is often referred to as solid black. The tiny purple hint you see in some places is probably not actually a characteristic of the color of the car, but is from the filtered photo light it's illuminated with.

I have seen a motorbike with a similar colour.I think it was Candy paint.Where you spray a basecoat of silver and then overcoat this with a tinted clearcoat.I would imagine the clearcoat in this case has a purple tint to it which gives it its colour.

Why not just email them and ask , to get the correct colour?
Have done before mainly looking for ref images and go straight to the maker or in the case of a race team gone to the team it self , you might be amazed at the results .
The only bad one that have had or no response is from Marco Melandri (must be still out to lunch):popcorn:

Carbon blue?

I'm not sure if we are all seeing the same colour at the link but the one I see is a kinda "eggplant" (aubergine).
I've had similar results spraying Tamiya mica red over Black and other dark basecoats.

Looks like Midnight purple to me. It looks black with purple on the angles.

I think this is a situation where it is really hard to give you an answer based on the picture. On my home computer I would agree with MPWR, it is solid black, nothing more nothing less. However on my work computer (not that I surf AF at work or anything :shakehead ) it looks a very different color - more like a dark (possibly candy) purple. Not knowing how it looks on your monitor :screwy: , it's hard to say what color you're seeing.

Ah, I guess that explains it. I really couldn't understand what you people were smoking. I had begun to wonder if this was one of those online personallity tests -are you an optimist or pessimist, do you see a (this) or a (that)? Or maybe, the color you see = the color of your soul! :evillol:
