Hey guys, you may remember me, I'm build a model kit of a 2G Eclipse GSX and I had asked several of you for help as far as technicalities and pictures and such. I promised I'd keep you guys updated on it, so I'm back :uhoh: I realize this is probably my third thread on the subject, my apologies, but this will be the last one, I think it's in the correct spot now.
Anyway, in case you missed it the first time, here's the thread:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=593252
I changed my photobucket set up, so the pictures will most likely be red Xs, but I'll fill you in. Here's the link to the thread on this in the Model Car forum:

OK, here's what I've got so far (to those of you who've seen this before, there isn't tons of progress :disappoin )
Slow Boy Racing tubular turbo manifold, made from solder.

Big turbo (I wanted to do a specific model turbo, but I decided to just stuff this thing in there and call it what I want).
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y193/daklunk/Eclipse%20GSX/Engine%20Work/Turbo%20and%20exhaust/Turbocharger.jpg
Beginnings of Magnus Motorsports sheetmetal intake (more on this later...)

BIG Spearco bar and plate FMIC

Anodized cam gears, not sure which brand name...
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y193/daklunk/Eclipse%20GSX/Engine%20Work/Details%20and%20Misc%20Performance/SomeBiggergears_2.jpg
NOS nitrous system, 2 bottles, 1 for the Fogger system and 1 for the IC cooler
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y193/daklunk/Eclipse%20GSX/Engine%20Work/Electronics%20and%20Nitrous/NOS_pkg.jpg
Vented and drilled brake rotors, scratchbuilt coil overs

Valentine V1 radar detector :naughty:

That's all for now, but if you'd like to see more check out my photobucket, everything is divided into sub folders and all the pictures ahve explanations of what's going on. Take a look

Even though I have 2 700mb CDs filled with pics (yikes!) I am still open to any reference you guys have. Let me know about pics you have of the engine from any wierd angles, specific parts I'm building, or of the interior. Specifically, I know I need a picture of an empty Eclipse glovebox. I'm going to leave the glovebox open and stick a PS2 Slim, contollers, and a copy of NFS Carbon in it :smokin:
Thanks again!

Is this just a hobby of yours, or are the for sale?

Just a hobby, I build much too slowly to build for profit, and my skills aren't well-honed enough to compete with real pro builders. I'm kinda of the "Build for yourself" philosophy anyway...
Thanks for the comments, guys!

It's not terribly hard, it does help to have young eyes and steady hands tho. I'm not terribly patient, either. A lot of the time it's cut, measure, & cuss... :cya:
I do have other cars I'm working on, but I haven't finished anything in quite a while. From the home page of my photobucket, you can see the 69 Camaro SS convertible I built for my friend (exception to my philosophy, gifts to special people. She was happy), another 99 GSX, my 93 Civic, F&F Supra and some other stuff. The only other thing I'm working on right now is an Acura RSX that I haven't yet unveiled, but other than that not much is going on. I've opened every kit I've bought, though, right now I have about 20 unbuilt :uhoh:
Thanks guys

This beast will have a sleeper fraternal twin :naughty: Same engine and drivetrain mods, if not more, but a stock exterior and a semi-stock interior :evillol:
I need some help as far as the wiring goes, right now I've got the Magnus Motorsports manifold pretty well worked out, I'm working on the fuel injectors and rail and the nitrous wet jets. I need to make a wiring harness so I can mock up the rest of the engine detailing, but I don't know the location of all the snesors or the routing of the wiring harnesses, and my knowledge of automotive electronics is remedial at best. So I drew up this diagram as best I could, with the locations of major components and the locations of sensors and such that I do know. I need help filling in what's in between. Soory you can't read it very well, photobucket changed it from a .bmp to a .jpg and it screwed it up. Let's see, you can't really read Firewall, TPS, cruise actuator, alternator, or fan...

Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted :grinyes:

What do you really need here? It looks like you have most of the wiring in the correct areas. You just need to connect them and that will be pretty close to the stock position...

Well, I've seen pictures of a DSM without the engine, and there's a big tangle of wiring harness(es?) all over the place. There has to be more sensors than what I showed, and I don't know where everything connects. Like does the harness to/from the ECU hook up with the injector harness near the firewall, somewhere else, or is there another harness it connects with first? I'm truly clueless when it comes to this, I can olny make out so much from the pics I have...
If you were to go out to your car, find the wiring from the ECU thru the firewall and follow it with your hand, where does it go to? Are there many branches off of it? Is there just one harness or are there several small ones? Where do the second power and ground wires from the battery lead to? Where to the smaller wires from the starter solenoid lead (in respect to the rest of the engien bay)? I'm still not entirely sure how the alternator is connected to the battery... How about the signal wire for the coil pack?
These are teh kind of things I don't know and am hoping you guys can help me with :uhoh: It looks like a lot, but if someone could take 10 minutes this weekend and jot down some notes of the locations, connections, and routing of these things, I would really appreciate it. :)
Thank you! I'll hopefully get some more finished this weekend... :naughty:

The other sensors are the speed sensor on the back on the tranny, knock sensor on the back of the block, there is another wire from the starter to the wire harness, IAC, ac if your putting that in, egr and evap if your including emmisions, power transistor for the coil, thats all I can think of off the top of my head.
