my 944 has started leaking coolant that appears to be coming from the bottom of the timing coverr and i am guessing that it,s the water pump. it is a 1986 non turbo and any help/ suggestions are appreciated sam

yes it sounds like the pump is leaking, when you or a shop replaces the pump make sure they replace all the seals, tensioner and timing belt most porsches are interference engines which means major engine damage occurs when the belt driven water pump bearing fails completely

porsceman, you were right, the pump is leaking and i am now fairly sure of the procedure for replacement. there was signs of oil leakage when on the cover but am not sure of the source. there is the cam seal, crank, and balance shaft seals. should they all be replaced or is there ones more prone to leakage than others and if so how.. thanks sam

has anyone has experience in resaling the front of the cam on my 944. ther seems to be seepage here also but the valve cover itself is bone dry so i am assuming it,s just the front.any tips would be greatly appreciated sam
