How hard is it to change the timing belt on a 2002 accent and are there any good references available?

i have changed mine twice.the first time i did not do it at 60,000 as recommended--the teeth stripped and i bent 3 valves.i pulled the head off and took it to a machine shop and they fixed it up,couple hundred dollars i remember.i changed head gasket, water pump and tensioner while i was into it although none showed any problem.since then i have changed it one more time.i have 150,000 on it and no problem--just so you know.the easiest i found was to get one of those vice grips with the chain(like a bicycle chain and is adjustable)and i use it on the crank shaft pulley, holds it solid when you take the center bolt out.you have to take the motor mount off so support the engine.the hardest part of the job is the bolts that hold the water pump pulley on,small ones but not much clearance between the fender and them--there are two that go together and then you have to line the holes up.i talked to a mechanic after and he said he would have lifted the engine higher to get at them--have not tried that yet,i might next time.the only weird thing is that it uses oil after head work, someone said maybe around the new valves.good luck
