I just got my bronco and its tailgate window is giving me problems. So i went ahead and pulled out the old motor replaced it with a new one and the window still wouldn't work. So i then double checked the switch which was sending the current with no issue. Does anyone have a wire diagram that could shed some light on the trouble.

If you get no other answers go to http://www.alldata.com and buy a years subscription for $25.00. They have a full service manual and wiring diagrams.
Print off the diagram as you may quit next year.

Your problem is a broken wire. Most likely it is at the point where the harness flexes when the gate opens. Strip the outer protective cover and you should find a wire broken or almost broken.

I'm willing to bet there are relays in that system. I not at work and wont go back till the second so I can check then I will look but I would see if there might be some under the hood I think there are relays on the drivers side inner fender havent worked on an 88 for awhile

Your problem could be the security switch. There is a switch that will not allow the window to go up or down if the truck thinks that the tailgate is down. I had a problem with my 1991 Bronco that sounds like your problem. To see if it is this switch, crawl in the back and remove the panel. Then I took a jump box and connected it with the proper wires on the motor. The window went down, I then let the tailgate down and we bypassed the security switch. I hope this helps. If something didnt make sense, ask me and I will try to clarify. Good Luck.
