96 grand am

the gear shift just wobbles around and im not able to shift gears.can someone help me to diagnose this.Thanks in advance for any help
the car is a 4 cylinder, 2.4liter,Standard Trasmission

The Engine and number of cylinders would be helpful. This has the automatic correct? Check the shift linkage on the tranny. What do you mean it wobbles? You can't feel the indents as you switch gears?

Can some one please help me I got a 95 Pontiac grand am and it over heats
we change the water pump and ran it with out the temp-gage then we had no heat so after 2 weeks went by we put the temp-gage back on.ran the car
about to miles and it over heated I dont know what the problem could be and it's really making me mad :banghead: so if anyone knows please HELP me .

ok I know it is dangerous to open the plastic reservoir for coolant when it is hot, but try opening it slowly when hot, see if you can hear any pressure coming out, if you can not hear anything try new cap. You have to have nice sealed system.
I assume your termostat is working fine.
