Well this is my first post but I need to find out what is going on with my mustang. If I'm easy on the throttle it will go up to about 4000 rpms while I'm driving but not much more. If I stomp on it then it just completely loses all power. I've heard clogged cats or clogged fuel filter possibly. It does flash the check engine light every now and then too. Any input would be greatly appceciated.

I have had some experiance with this trouble and it was the TPS switch.

Well here's an update. I replaced the fuel filter and the acceleration problem got better but it clogged right back up in 10 minutes so i'm going to drop the tank and replace the fuel pump, clean the tank out, and put a new filter in. I also replaced the TPS and that didnt work. I'm leaning heavily towards clogged cats. The car has 4 cats and has 90000 miles on it.

Why not see why the check engine light is coming on first, instead of just throwing parts at it. While you have a scan tool on the car see what the 02 sensors are doing and run a KOER test.

Problem solved. All issues due to bad fuel pump. I put in a 255lph pump and it runs like a champ. Thanks for all the input though.
