I have a 98' silverado with the flip down center seat that has the storage compartment. The latch must have broken and now I cannot open the thing. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to open that up without breaking it (I have some important stuff in there that I would like to get out).
I already tried feeling around with a screwdriver but with no success
Any help here would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

RickMine was like that also ,Talked to Gm tech buddy and he told me to spray it with wd- 40 or what ever lubricant you have. Of course you have to have the little tube thing to get it inside of latch before you spray . it worked for me. I was getting pissed also ,latch would seem to go in a bit but not release .works great now yee haw............LOL

I had this happen in my car . My sunglasses leg went into the latch slot when I closed it and jambed . After trying every means posible I finally had to break it to get in . GM does not sell just the peice I need to replace . So beware of that if you decide to force the issue . Rob
