hey i have had my fourth gen four about 1 or 2 months and this just hit me it said i have 16 vales on my valve cover thinged but the kid i bought it from said it was a 1.5 litre engine
so i was saying to my self if honda built the 1.5 litre engine for good gas milage only then why woul it have two cams?
so i was wondering if anybody could tell me if the 1.5 did come with dohc or i have a differnt motor thanks

Liter and Valves have nothing to do with each other at all. 1.5 is the displacement, and 16 is the number of intake (8 each, 2 for each cylinder) and exhaust (8 each, 2 for each cylinder) valves.
My friend has a '97 VW Golf and he has a 2.0 liter engine but only 8 valves.

okay..soo look right below where the radiator hose connects to the head and you'll see an engine code. If it says D15 then you have the 1.5L, if it say D16 then you have the 1.6L

Couldn't you just look at the intake manifold and see if it is 1.5 or 1.6? I know the 1.5s have DPFI, with the black intake, and the 1.6 has MPFI with the silver intake. Am I not right here?

If it looks just like that, then it is a D15 1.5 liter.
Here is a pic of it with an intake on it

Travis, I thought the D15 had at least 90 something hp. Or is that just claimed hp?

There was the D15B2 in the DX which had 92hp, and the STD had a D15__ that made 70hp.

alright, what is the difference in the STD and DX? I know they made some that came stock with painted bumpers, cloth seats, and a few other little things. Mine has all of the extras on it, so I don't think it is a STD.
