My 2000 S-10 (2.2L engine) was running just fine last night, however I was turning into my subdivision at low speed the truck just quit running without any prior indication and the lights dimmed as I drifted to the side of the road. I turned the truck off and then restarted the engine, which started right away with the ABS light staying on for a about 39 seconds after I pulled back onto the roadway. There was no engine light and I drove the remaining mile home without any problem. The truck started the next morning and all gauges and indications looked fine but I am now extremly worry that car will stop without any warning. Any suggestions on where to start trouble shooting an intermittent issue of this nature.
FYI: I have a friend with the same vehicle who had a similiar indication which turned out to be a throttle position sensor that was intermittent and killed the engine several times while runing down the highway at speed. This repeated over a couple of days with a garage trying to solve but finally replaced the sensor and stated that it goes into fail safe as the cause. Not sure this is right but included all info that I have.

How much gas did you have in the tank??

First, I had approx a 1/4 tank of gas. Second, I went out this morning and did some driving with the following results: Tried driving around the local streets with the same amount of gas and made several 360 turns in both directions with no negative indications. Next, I intended to drive to local town about 10 miles away at 50 miles per hour and left the local streets. All was fine for the first four miles and on a straight part of the road, the truck stopped responding to the gas pedal and rpm began to fall. I then drifted off the highway and stopped the truck. Only warning lights that lite were the battery (I think), the ABS light, and the low fuel light. After stopping, I turned the truck off and restarted fine. I then headed to the gas station and put in 12 gallons of gas and drove the truck back home the four miles without another loss of gas pedal command. In my opinion, the gas gauge has always been correct and I don't think it was too low on gas but I now feel like the engine quite running was due to lack of fuel. But I do not know what is causing this lack of fuel and I was hoping someone has some experience with the S-10 in this area. Thanks, Steve

Sounds liket it was running out of fuel and the pump was losing its prime.
