The people over at the srt forum are trying to tell me that autometer are "crap" gauges so I want to know your guy's opnions. Also I'm talking best bang for the buck, not lets spend the most amount of money possible

There is nothing wrong with autometer...What gauges are you looking to get? The 30psi boost gauge or what? Autometer is a renouned company...

I'm looking at the cobalt 30/30 boost gauge and electric oil pressure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 90% sure the cobalt gauges won't fit(because of length). Also, so you know, an oil pressure gauge is a PITA to install. I tried one on mine and ended up stripping the damn bolt like 80% of all other skittle owners.

are you talking about the stock location that they wont fit in? Because I'm putting my wideband in there. What gauges do you reccomend? Also why are srt's called skittels?

I would suggest for you to have:
Boost gauge(stocker or 30psi unit)
Wideband(Aem)
Knock/timing gauge
Oil pressure would be nice if you could get it hooked up. Also fuel pressure would be nice too. Eletrical always over manual(at least in my book) but it all really comes down to money.

Does your scanner read knock retard also? I know mine doesn't. Timing is VERY important with the srt's, VERY. I would suggest the knock/timing gauge like I said. Go to this websit http://www.techgauges.com/ to see what I'm referring to.

who hasnt updated most of their technology in 20 years. the same guy who worked for autometer designing their gauges, quit and worked for sterwart warner. their gauges are much superior quality than autometer...and this comes from someone who has been in the racing/tuning buisness for years and years, and making srt's fast since i got mine in feb of '03. plus, the silver s/w gauges match the factory gauges better than the autometers.

I just sold all my Autometer guages. I had the Cobolt series. I had recently installed a Defi set up in my buddys STI. Very nice guages smooth and clean and I like how they reset each time. I dont think they would match the SRT set up tho.
