First check the switch itself. Using the chart below. To bypass, simply jump B&C on the main harness end.
NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS
Position Between Terminals
Park ........................................... "B" & "C"
Reverse ........................................ "A" & "E"
Neutral ........................................ "B" & "C"
Drive ................................................ (1)
3 .............................................. "A" & "G"
1-2 ............................................ "A" & "H"
(1) - No continuity should exist between any terminals.
To repair/rebuilld it, check out:

Here's the connector on the NSS side. If you look at the main harness, you'll need to "mirror" the image. You can reach everything from up top. If you put a jumper across B&C on the main harness, you'll bypass the NSS. Be careful, you'll be able to start in any gear as well. Also, you'll have no reverse lights.

Like stated...
VEHICLE WILL START IN ANY GEAR
Are you having problems starting or are you sure beyond a reasonable doubt that the NSS is the problem
Keyed cylinder fubared can cause a "no start" situation
Bad ignition switch can also cause the same
The rod that goes from the back of the keyed cylinder to the ignition switch,if it is bent or not in position will cause a no start situation
Here is a write up on how to clean the NSS
