LMAO, Goobs of beer don't sound too appetizing, that might have been your problem.  :smooch: Either that, or the beer and beans might have had something to do with it. (That's Earl brussell sprout territory there, brother).
Had a great time. Ate too much, had to listen to the kids fighting and thought about the absolutely huge amount of money (and time) I will need to get RD back into the world of the living.

Never had goobs of beer huh?
Huge amounts of money, eh, hear ya there. I had to listen to misses gloat all day long about how we're selling the house, and moving to Iny-fucking-ana, dead center of the damn lake effect snowbelt after all the shitslapping work I've put in to our current house of only 2 blasted damn years. :cya:
Eh well, I look at it this way, property taxes are going to increase again, don't know what's going on jobwise, and up to may arse in bills. By selling and moving there, no mortage, porperty tax is low as hell, everything is paid off, a acre of land, small lake down the street, and on little thing that I said there would be no way in hell I will move there with out:
Garagemahal Baby!!!
That's right, 4-5 car garage, heated&a/c, 220V service, lounge area, and whatever project my bored ass heart desires when I'm buried in under umteen feet of snow. :grinyes:

I need the details in a PM... you might get a neighbor! Indiana... that's tornado country right??? You'll need a Garagemahal built with Garagemaballs to withstand the inclement weather.
They're KILLING me with RE and earned income taxes here. I'd move in a heartbeat if they had a decent business landscape. Although Indiana is kinda flat, ain't it? Snow??? Snow's fun. Just might hafta go buy an old jeep to outfit for the snow. That shit's fun.

There's a couple of houses for sale within a few blocks of where I'm buying :grinyes:
Man, that just wouldn't be right, guess we'd just have to make the first trip (second actually to the liqour store), and introduce ourselves to the local law enforcement community :disappoin
We're already banking on a couple of snowmobiles and I do wanna try ATVing sometime.
Part that sucks, now we'll be by a lake, guess what I just sold at my last garage sale? The damn boat motor.:frown:

Wiring complete to the dash... need gauges, switches, new dash and console. While I'm at it, going to replace carpeting. Going to make my own dash, console and door panels, considering making new headliner to match. I also want to put in electric windows and door locks at the same time. Once I get that all done, going to pull motor and rebuild it, although I may have someone do the heads for me.
I haven't touched it in over 3 months... the wiring works, and I've had it running once just to make sure I didn't F anything up, but just for a minute. The radiator fan, fuel pump, and lights all work, but I need a new headlight / dimmer switch and new wiper switch... the old ones are a little scary looking. I want billet / brushed aluminum switches to match what I'm doing with the dash and console, and can't find much.
I also have to buy a mig welder (going to use steel for dash and console I think - aluminum would be nice, but tig welder is WAY too expensive). Soooo, I need about $1500 - $2500 to finish it up and I won't have that until tax season. Besides I don't have the time to mess with it right now.
I've honestly considered selling it, but would lose my ASS on it as it sits. It's very frustrating to have it there looking at me everytime I open the garage door. But I'm hoping that I can get the money necessary to finish it up by the middle of the summer 2007.

Do you have a stick welder? They make welding sticks for welding aluminum. I've never used them and I don't know how good they are, but I know they make them because we sell them at the hardware store I work at. :icon16:
I also bought some aluminum soldering sticks at a car show I went to recently. :icon16:

Dylan, I was getting pissed thinking about that when I wrote the first post... BUT! It may work out well for RD. NEW PAINT JOB! (Just might take another 10 years to get the money, but still.)
Stepho! No stuff? Let me know if they work. If so, I'm going that route, stick welders are cheap, and I'm not sure by how much, but I'm sure aluminum would be much lighter. Considering how much I'm going to be using, it might be better to use aluminum rather than a 16 or 18 gauge steel. Besides, I heard that aluminum is much more workable than steel.

Did you mean a Hyundai Santa Fe as being a real SUV?
Just kidding TS. Alum was hard for me to work with because you have to use real low temp so you don't burn a hole in it. Takes alot of practice, I was a freshman in high school when I tried.
Just my :2cents:

lmao... you jackass.
As far as aluminum being workable, I mean you can use a template and a "beater" or whatever and make it fancy. For instance, if you want to put a rolled edge on it, get a piece of pipe and make a jig so that you can put the edge of the aluminum against it and use a leather mallet to make the aluminum take the shape of the jig.
The instructor in my welding class was showing us some of the jigs he made, and how it works. Pretty damned cool... he claims that he made almost the entire body on his dragster, just the chassis was bought.
I actually got ok at TIGing aluminum, but was far better at stick and mig and even TIGing steel.

Those aluminum welding rods are expensive. Like $5.xx for a pack of four. Haven't tried them yet though. I'll probably pick up a pack on friday.
It says right on the package "Weld aluminum as easy as steel." But I don't know if i believe that. Unfortunately the company that makes them (US Forge) doesn't have a website.

Yeah but IF they work, even buying like 20 packs is a lot cheaper than buying a mig welder with a wire spool gun or a tig welder.
You can pick up a decent stick welder for like $200 last time I checked, of course that's stick only, but for $300 you're done. $300 MIGHT buy the wire spool gun, or the tig torch and the bottle.
Let me know how you make out. I'm gonna see if I can get in touch with the welding class instructor and ask him too.
