Dash lights HELP!

I have a 92 Integra, a while ago I had a short in my tail light system and have since re-wired the system to a switch so I have to click the switch on the switch seperate from the headlights. When the tail lights go out the dash lights go out aswell and I have been using a 3 LED bike light, and am getting very sick of looking at that bright light. I have a Chilton manual but the wiring diagrams are very confusing, I am wondering if there is a place online that can show me what wire and where I would need to be able to splice the switch to the dash lights.

I just had a thought. If I splice the 12v from the switch that I put in to the out on the dimmer switch would that light the dash lights? I dont want to do it unless I have confirmation that this would work. Thanks for the help.
