FYI on blinker problem

I ran into a recent problem with my blinkers. I'm not sure I dianosed the problem correctly, but I suspect I did. At first the right signal wouldn't work. I pulled the switch apart and used metal polish on the contacts. Problem solved. A couple weeks later the signals wouldn't work in either direction, but the hazzard lights worked fine. I immediately went to the switch but found nothing wrong. I also found that later in the day (warmer) the singals worked fine. I didn't think it could be the relay because it worked with the hazzard lights. Finally, it occured to me that it's running more current through for both sets of lights and was apparently enough to cause a weak relay to work correctly. I had an old one lying around and it took care of the problem. I'll order a new one sometime soon.
