Can anyone tell me if the plastic right above and below their light dimmer wheel gets almost too hot to touch? If not, any suggestions what might be causing this?

I haven't noticed it around the dimmer wheel, but I rarely turn it. The radio on the other hand, gets very hot. Hot enough that if you hold your hand there long enough it hurts. I always assumed it is bulbs behind it, because it is only at night that it happens and does not do it when the dimmer is way down. Good luck.

I hit mine all the time when the kids are asleep and we open the doors to get out. Faster to find by touch than the Dome Override button. Never noticed it being that hot. A little warm maybe, but never near too hot to touch.

Mine has always been hot too. I never got too concerned with it.
That being said, you could swap out the bulbs with LED bulbs

Although I'm not sure if they will dim like incandecent lamps.....

The light above the dimmer wheel is not lit. I never considered that it was supposed to be. Also my 1/4 lights are out on the stereo. Are either of these replacable?

Mine also gets hot, but only if the lights are dimmed. I assumed it was the reostat giving off heat. I prefer the lights dim but keep them turned up to keep the switch cooler.
