So yeah... I got the replacement eco/pow switch from my local mitsu dealership... problem is this... I have tried 3 or 4 times to get that part of the console out to replace the old one (gummed up and doesn't work) I can not seem to get anywhere near the thing no matter how hard I try... how is this done?

I don't have active exhaust, where does the button go, refresh my memory. In any case, all those button panels in my car, I'm able to pry and pop up with a flathead screwdriver. :dunno:

^^ My guess is that he has the ATX. The pwr/eco switch is located at the top left on the shift column. However, when it comes to installing it, I have no idea.

Yeah I was here before... After blowing an engine, getting exhaust work and stripping the back end... I'm back.. & now my 3kgt is a project car with a 2007 accent as my driver/winter car so yeah... thanx for the warm welcome.

BTW what do you mean by "ATX"? this is not a term I've heard Of yet... can you explain the differences of it to me?

ATX = Auto transmission, as opposed to manual.

Well, lol for starters trying to get the eco power switch replaced (:banghead: ) Then maybe dropping a 4G63T. It all depends...

^^^^ Why go to so much trouble?

Mainly because I'm a broke performance guy... + my switch doesn't work & I've always wanted to know if it makes any real difference... not to mention, if you love your car you want everything to work right?

It would be easier (by far) and cheaper and faster to drop in a 6g72TT.

SL3000GT meant why go to the trouble to put a 4G63 turbo into your car when you can just slap on 2 turbos from a 3000GT VR4 or Dodge Stealth TT. they will bolt right up. the 6G72 engine is what is in your car, its in every 3000GT/Stealth.

So what kind of prep mods am i going to have to run to get a TT working correctly?... ...This car is going to be spending the entire winter in the garage with the engine out just modding it and building it up....

Check the FAQ under TT conversion.

whew, thanks. if "FAQ" isn't thrown out at the beginning of a thread, then i always forget to give that as a reply. i was about to go on and on about tt conversions and such, then i would usually get tired and say use the search button. but i guess i just forget about the FAQ sometimes. probably b/c its so friggin awesome and no one else has one quite like our's ;).

umm...you've got a new switch. just replace it. it really shouldn't be that hard. just get a flat head screwdriver and pry around the edges of the plastic pieces. be careful not to break anything. i don't know what else to tell you.

thats been the issue... but i just can't seem to get the middle console out... basically, what i really need is to get the whole shift column out of it (it's an AT) so if there is anyone who's actually pulled that out, I'd like to know how they did it... :)

these pictures should reveal more than you need to know. honestly, it appears that you can just pop the switch out w/o removing the entire console. but its up to you. seriously, if you still can't figure out how to remove the console, ask a friend to help.
