Any ideas of what this might be would help alot, its a 2001 LS v8
The Problem:
The problem is with using the key fob. It works fine when the car has NOT being sitting locked for more then 30 min. It will unlock, lock, panic, role the windows down, etc from any distance. However when the car has being sitting locked for more then 30 min the key fob does not do anything, its like it has no battery. I assume the problem is with the car itself.
As a result i have to unlock the car with the key and then the alarm goes off. After the alarm turns on, everything on the key fob will work again.
Please help, this is an annoying issue.

Is this the factory key fob? Do you have another key fob to try?
I doubt a second key fob will have any effect though, it sounds more like a problem with the module in the car (Driver Door Module or Front Electronic Module). Using the key to unlock the door should also disarm the factory alarm. There is a disarm switch in the key cylinder.

Interesting. Hopefully you don't discover there was a reason the fuse was removed.
With the fuse installed, have you tried unlocking the door with the key to see if the alarm still sounds or not?
