Are all alignments created equally?

Does it really matter much where you take your vehicle for an alignment? Will fireStone do as well as the dealer or Sears or vise-versa?

i would assume so they all use pretty much the same equipment the only difference might be if you get a lazy technician and he gets it close and calls it good

Make sure you get a fully electronic 4 wheel alignment.

Great. Thanks. Just about have all the control arms re-installed. 2 more hours and I can drive it to get aligned. I guess I'll get the life-time alignment from Firestone.

Make sure they have someone in the driver's seat when they align the steering wheel.

i agree with that earlier post about the lazy tech and also it depends on the shops equipment - theres flinstones and theres modern technology .

i work for firestone and i will be brutally honest there are guys who cheat alignments badly, my best advice to you is to watch the tech the entire time he is aligning your car, its not hard for him to take a flip of the wrist and bump the sensors for the alignment machine to get everything within spec, this isnt just at firestone i worked for sears to and guys will change specs and bump heads to get the paper to read all green, alignments are the most cheated service out there.
