I recently just purchased my first car. a 1995 GSX with the mods listed below for $4900 courtesy of DragonofBC. I shipped the car from florida for a whopping $800 but i finally have my dream car(within my price range) I bought the whole thing by myself. I think its a pretty sick car when youre only 17. My plans for it are an 11sec car that can handle the evos at the track and i can drive everywhere. I know theyre lofty but im a pretty smart kid i can figure it out. I know this takes money so im lookin to have it finished by the time i graduate college which is in like 4 years. Ill probably be asking lots of quetions in the future. Just wanted to share about my first baby!!! I would post pictures but AF for some reason wont let me so heres the linkhttp://www.cardomain.com/ride/2490686 it doesnt look like much but going fast is more important than looking pretty.

welcome, thank you for not being an assclown n00b

I would advise you read...for days and days....

knowledge will make your car a whole lot faster than parts alone

that being said, start saving for dmsmlink ;)

Here's some advice based on your sig,

don't worry about the header, not for a while, ONLY buy a wideband 02, don't waste your time with a light show narrowband, and don't waste your time with an EBC. For the most part, they can't hold steady boost, and they really do the same thing for about 10x the cost as a MBC.

With the utmost sincerity, I welcome you to the forums, and to the DSM world. Also, with even more sincerity, I request you bid farewell to your savings account :icon16:

Nice car, you remind me of me when I first had my DSM. Good luck with the track goals though. It might prove to be a very capable and worthy adversary at the strip, but at the course, it's a completely different game. It would be pretty sweet to see an Eclipse take out everything at the race course though! Welcome to the forums.

I used to race go-karts so i have a leg up on most people at the track. Thats kinda whay i bought it; to be unique. The problem right now is that my boost is below stock i just want to get it up the original 14 maybe 15 psi. I will be savin for DSM link ive read lots of stuff about it and it has some sick features. Should that be the next thing i get after i finish my exhaust. I know tuning is a huge part but do i really need to with the minimal mods? id defenitely like to have it before its too late and ive already blown something up.

I would probably argue against that, seeing as *most* people who go to the track regularly know what they are doing. Go-kart racing is not going to benefit you when those guys are running real cars, and the more time you spend behind the wheel of the car you race is going to be more beneficial...:2cents:

A motor is a motor no matter how you look at it. I can mod the shit out of my gokart if I wanted to and it would be no different than a car. Hell, a gokart would be about the same as a junior dragster. Just because they run a centrifical clutch instead of a tranny doesn't make them any less. Trust me, my gokart was fast as shit until my brother took my clutch because he blew his up from reving it too high and then he never replaced my clutch.

I am actually contemplating getting back into the gokart scene a little bit and maybe throw a stock turbo off a 3000gt vr4 onto it. I bet it would haul some serious ass then... hehe...

I've raced gokarts since I was 8. I've got a 2-stroke Yamaha KT100 that if I put a big ass gear on it, it'd probably do 130 at the salt flats (take me like 2 miles to get there though! :D)

Yeah knowing how to find lines on a road course is very beneficial and go karts are the shit...my friend is building a shifter cart right now...cant wait to drive that thing...I really want to take my car to the track though....but cant do that without a tranny =(

ive spanked my share of "experienced" racers first day out. Shit id rathe have a go-kart my 28hp rotax was puchin ferrari type power to weight ratios with me in it and i could defenitely pull more g's. those 40-45hp shifter karts are a whole different animal though. i saw a video of one smoke a ferrrari 360modena. anyways what should be my next purchase after the exhaust stuff and mbc. ill have to see if i have an adjustment screw on my current one maybe i can just adjust the screw to turn up the boost. I was thinking fuel upgrades or dsmlink...?

I have off-roading gokarts... I think they are more fun than on-road ones. :2cents:
