civic Si on my mind

alright, im in the market for a new car, and ive stumbled across a super clean 2004 civic Si. Having owned a turbo DSM, im used to having immediete torque at the mash of the throttle. I know that Honda powerplants don't work like this, and since ive never driven a VTEC engine, im not competely sure if the powerband will work out to my liking. Will bolt-ons give me the low-end to midrange power i crave? if not, tell me what ill need to know if i choose to buy this car and become a honda guy. I love the look of the car, and the build quality of Hondas, especially this newer example, crushes that of DSMs. What will i be looking at in order to exeed or at least match the performance of the eclipse GS-T? Thanks for your input.

i own a 04 si, but is not a power monster, but it has enough power to make me happy, and the k20a3 motor already has good amount of torque. if u want to make good ppwer out of that car i suggest u do a swap to either a k20a2 or k20a with FI. btw the motor that comew with the si only have vtec on the intake so dont expect for vtec to hit like older b series or the rsx s. but check out ephatch.com, u gonna get all the info there u ever need.

how do they respond to basic to moderate bolt on/ins? (i/h/e, cams, intake manifold) and how responsive is the handling?

if you're looking for power, an EP3 is not the way to go...an RSX is a much better choice in that year simply because it has a much better powerplant that responds better to bolt on parts and especially FI
