Hey guys, Im back with a 94 LHS. I got it, the whole engine harness was hacked up.. Rather than replacing the wires, I got a new harness. Car starts for a second then dies. If I floor it, it will ping, very low r's and then dies. There is also a raw smell of fuel that is unbearable.. I have a scanner and when it is running, cam and crank sensor says yes which means Im good there.. Had a buddy of mines check timing , he says im good..Tps read just below five volts, but it says that I have it open at 60%.. I un plugged the sensor and it still says I have 60%... Puzzled, bad computer or a bad ground.. What do you think????

For starters if it is the MT2500 Snap _on scanner you are S.O.L..I just spent 3 months on the phone with California snappy techs and thier info is not just quit right with these bad boys.If you can get your hands on a Vantadge or even just a good multi meter and the specs it will be alot more helpful.I also do think the software info for any of the snappy scanners will be off, modis, solarous or what have you.

I know Snappy has its issues.. I have a Vantage Pro.. Seems to do the trick.. Anyway, I tested the tps today and it has 1 volt on the + wire key on. I then un did the computer and backprobed it from there and I still have the same volts. I think I have a bad pcm.. I swap the tps and the % dosn't change at all. So im thinking a mix between a bad tps and a bad pcm.. I don't know, I will let you guys know..

Bizzy,
What did you come up with. I am having similar problems with my 2001 LHS. It started a few months ago as an intermittent problem with the engine dying (see my post on 9/24/2006). I started with cam/crank sensors. No luck. I spent some time looking for faulty grounds. Didn't find anything there. I was looking for a PCM today, but if you already tried that, I may hold off. Please let me know what you find/have found regarding the timing (or anything else you have learned).

Thanks for your help.

No, The PCM didn't do the trick, neither did the harness.. Seems like to poblem is still with the car. I did look at the belt and set it the best way I could, Its pretty much dead on or a tooth off. Either way the cpu will compensate. The only thing that I did do differently, was not change the plugs or check the injector. Today, I change the plugs and low and behold, the plugs in clyinders 3,5,4,6 where seriously dripping with gas..SO now im going to pull the upper intake off and check the injectors..Hopefully , that will fix it..
