knock sensor

my husband and I were taking the motor out and doing some work on it we broke the knock senor off and can't get the rest out of the motor. It's in with lock tight. does anyone have any ideas to get this out or if i can run it like this for a while till we get it fixed..

Drill through the base stem. Heat the surrounding area to soften the adhesive and use an extractor to back it out. The other options are to either drill through completely and retap, or weld a bolt to it and back it out while the stub is still hot.

Right now, it is just a pipe plug, which is exactly what the factory installed there for 40 years before detonation sensors were used to hold the coolant in. It should be safe to drive, but you'll have no EST due to the lack of a KS.
