First let me thank you guys, I have been reading here for a few months, this website is awesome. I changed drum brakes on the rear of my car with the help of this website. Now my cooling fans are not working, I have a haynes manual that mentions a fuse, but I cant find the fuse on the car. Is it in the engine compartment fusebox? If that is not the problem do you guys have any suggestions. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Go here (https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp) Enter info then go to roadside emergencies and there is pictures of both fuse boxes.

I have a haynes manual
You have our condolences on that Haynes manual David :p We just returned ours as it was pretty much worthless for the gen 4 Taurus. I've got the 2000-2004 Ford service manuals on their way and I'll check the wiring diagrams for you as soon as they come, or maybe Rod will beat me to it :p On our 2004 it's fuse 3, 4, 9, 10 and 34. Might be a circuit breaker also or a bad relay.

I agree, I am not a stupid person, but that is crazy. I stared at that book for an hour trying to figure out where the fuses are for the fans. I found the fuses they are not bad. So now I am going to have to get my friend and his voltmeter and see if I can figure what is wrong. From what I gather you let the car warm up and see if there is voltage going to the fans. The haynes manual does not say what to do after that? Oh well. What would be a good manual to buy?

Turn on the A/C when the ambient temperature is above freezing and see if the fans run. If they do, you know the relays, fuses, and fan motors are working.
The factory service manual is the way to go. What year is your Taurus?

He's got a 2000 Taurus. The service manual that I ordered would be perfect for him. I'll post the wiring diagram for that section as soon as mine arrives.

It is a 2000 Ford Taurus SE. The cooling fans do not run when the a/c is turned on. The car does not overheat as long as we do not drive in stop and go traffic. MyTaurus thank you for posting those wiring diagrams.

Ooops, I missed the model year in the subject line.
If you private message me with an e-mail address for you that can accept PDF attachments, I will e-mail the wiring diagrams to you.
