A friend of mine has a Toyota Hilux SR5 and is currently looking for a way to increase it's engines performance. He was suggested to use a TTE D-4D performance kit in order to do so.
Our engine's power is 102 PS/75 kW, with standard Torque 260 Nm
My question to you is: is there any other/better way to do it.

Haha...speaking of the Hilux.
Anybody remember the Top Gear segment where they tried to destroy a Hilux and no matter what they did the thing wouldn't die?
I'd suggest you do this and hope your insurance covers "several acts of God" because that's what it's gonna take to destroy that truck.

Isn't the Hilux like, the front part of an 18 wheeler?

Around here in the States if we want more power we add Autozone Spoilers and lots of stickers and an unpainted body kit.
But seriously you can just juice the engine with nitrous-oxide. Cheepest and most dirrect way to make power on any car.

Sell the truck and buy a Ninja ZX10-R. You would get more power and a huge weight reduction.

Those trucks aren't made with power in mind, it's best to just leave it stock. You won't get much out of it no matter what you do to it.

Certainly not to make a speed car out of it. The car's engine has a tendency to turn off while driving up steep slopes, which we hope to overcome by adding some power to the engine.

You can overcome that problem by not going up steep slopes.

Hilux ain't the type of a speed car, but what it's made for is driving steep slopes  and that sort of stuff.
Anyway, the problem appears when dealing with terrain a 4x4 wheeler is made for. As I said, the engine simply refueses to cooperate at times it should not
So if there's any other advice you can give me, please do not hesitate
