Hi Phil

They are both Ralph Laurens cars (not on my home PC at the mo so can't remember the # for the high mirror-with-orange-seat car, its either #055 or #074(?)) and the pics was originally (?) from the book "Velocity"

Another pic here (http://gallery.pictopia.com/roadandtrack/gallery/13535/photo/roadtrack:976067/?o=1)

It's #074, and the seat appears to be a saddle tan color, not quite orange, to me.

Didn't really stare at the picture - I was just putting an answer to Greg's open-ended question.

I think the confusion might stem from the fact that these images of the Silver F1 and the LM originated around the time John Lamm published his book "Velocity - Supercar Revolution" and inside that are pics of Ralph's LM and some images that rather clearly show #074 with it's brown seat.

Also, we have LensCrafters here and thanks but I don't need 'em. ;)

The elusive pic finally appears :runaround:

I have known of this pic for a very long time, Michael Cane GTC Motorsport told me the story behind this photo shoot, it took alot of effort and time from his guys to put this together. With no reward from the agency who did the photography, they did not even have the courtesy to send him any photo,s of the shoot, some people have no respect, which I find disgusting. As time rolled on, you must remember Michael was a busy man running a race team, no time for chasing after pics. When Michael was summoned to race control at Mangy Cours race circuit one race weekend, what was hanging on the wall in all its glory, yes this pic, poster size, fully framed.

Roll on time a bit further, I met up with staff from the circuit when they had a stand at the Autosport show, they said they knew of the picture but it had been taken down due to decorating, but could not find any trace of it.

So all was lost until now, many thanks Arjan:cheers:, Great find.

Would you be so kind to post the magazine cover, name, date of issue, many thanks in advance.

Does anybody know what magazine this came out of?

Believe that used to be a feature in the GTR Articles scan thread, but appears the images are MIA.

Probably from here: Racecar Engineering: June 1996

Was a whole article on the 1996 F1 GTR featuring 12R or 15R.

I think Erik is right. I have the magazine. I can check it later to day. Now have to go to work. :frown:
Good story how they did it, good facts about 1995 Le Mans, where Gordon says, that the 1995 Le Mans winner GTR's engine was internally unchanged, of course some water/cooling/oil pumbs were added a bit stronger parts. :)

That's pretty good story to get. If you find one, buy one. :) Of course those scans are good but the magazine will offer also Gordon's interview about his career that point, if I remember right. :)

OK so it was that then. :)
Good to know that. I wanted to have this story here because felt that there is never too much images from those days when they delivered these cars....

Recently I found this French magazine, including an interview with Gordon Murray and Peter Stevens.

Cool pics of #022

OK so it was that then.

Overlooked this earlier, but I think there is the strong potential for those to be original shots of chassis 046 and not 022. Especially since the article is from 1996 and chassis 046 was completed in late 1995.

Sadly the picture was printed all the way into the page so without ripping the magazine apart this is the furthest separated I could get but clearly there's still a small section missing.

Thank YOU!
XP56GT then?! Never seen these anywhere.!

Not sure actually, could theoretically be either of the two completed roadcars they mention in the article, hard to tell without final paint on!

Hopefully someone here might have more info/pics?
