GXP DVD NAV Question

Just purchased 06 GXP with DVD based Navigation. I apologize if this question has been asked before but I could not find it on this forum. Does anyone know if the radio plays MP3's and DVD movies? I've tried both with no success. If not, is there a way to make it play movies? I've searched the internet for the answer but couldn't find anything conclusive, it seems that some do and some don't.
