Can not shift from park on the hot engine??

Dear, all.
I have recently had a problem with the brake switch, which I have replaced to the new one - bought @ "Pep Boys". Now brake switch seems to be working, however after the hour of driving on (D) if I'll shift the handle to P - forget it it does not move! You can shift thousand times while the engine is cool in the morning, after you just started the car, but not on hot. Have to turn off the engine, put it only on power (not starting the engine) and then it shifts from park, so I have to put it in N with the hand brake ....and then shift to drive... Any ideas - Gentemen??
