How do you install a short ram intake? I try to install it on my 95 eclipse gs 2.0, but i have no clue if it is on right. while i was removing the air hose i broke a hose in half:banghead: , but i dont know what the hose is to. Can some one help me out here appreciation. I do know that it was hooked up to a little silver thingy with a star looking picture on it, the other end was pluged up to the intake, the wire is really thin like spagette. help please :dunno:

Sounds like a hard vacuum line. I would replace it with soft vacuum line if possible. Maybe you should post some pictures of it so we can know for sure if thats what it is.

How the hell did you break that hose in half? You must have just ripped on it as hard as you possible could. But guess what...you probably can't use that hose anyway, it's not long enough. Your pipe should have come with a new one.

Dude please type in complete sentences and don't abbreviate words like intake with intk, you skipped 2 letters which probalby saved you 1/16th of a second of typing.
It's pretty hard to fuck up on the installation, mine only went on one way. Didn't yours come with a bracket that bolts to the valve cover? And what do you mean by hissing? It should have more of a growl to it when you step on the gas because of the difference in airflow, but it definitely shouldn't hiss.

:1: for the typing in coherent sentences
Mine CAI hisses a little bit around 3k rpm, but after about 4k you can't hear it because the sound of the motor overpowers it.

The hissing is normal. I know exactly what he is talking about. Its actually the motor sucking in air and you can hear it because the intake is so short now. My Firebird does the same thing since I put my filter right off the throttle body. lol

Dude YOU ARE GETTING HELP shut the fuck up and stop complaining. Nobody is going to give two squirts of piss about your problem if you don't take your time in typing correctly so we don't get a headache trying to read your shit. You are trying to install a CAI...it's not that hard. Seriously, just think about it and you will figure it out no problem.

Uh, no lets not take him that route yet. He seems to be having a few issues with installing a CAI. lol
If you want one with more power, then you need to just sell it and get a GST or GSX model.

No they are not an easy install. Unless you are very good with power tools and fabrication, it will run you upwards of $2000 to build one yourself, and around that much to buy one with the supporting mods.
What do you have for exhaust? Just a muffler or a complete system? A bored throttle body will give you more air, and a header/downpipe should give you a little more exhaust flow. Then from there you'll need to do head upgrades (upgraded cams, porting, etc) and the last step would beupgrading block internals and then a turbo.
