Hello,
The water pump on my 2000 Silverado 6.0L just went out (fan was wobbling, then threw belt, now leaking coolant). Is this a difficult DIY replacement? It looks pretty straight forward, but I just wanted to see if anyone has any advice or suggestions? Anyone happen to know the torque specs for the water pump?
Thanks in advance, any information is welcome.
Mike P.

If the fan unit is threaded to the waterpump like the 5.7L Auto Zone has a tool loaner program which is free if you return it in a reasonable time. Normally you need to brace the wrench which fits over the 4 nuts and use the other unit to lossen. I use a big mallet with plastic heads so I don't damage my tools.
