I am a tall person and want to move my seat back a few inches. I have a 2005. Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions? Any plans for different brackets? Thanks.

Adjusting the seat back as far as it will go doesn't help? How tall are you Shaq? lol

Im 6' 2" and my seat all the way back is a good fit. Now when I get in after my wife drives (5' 6") now that sucks.

But the only way I could think of moving the seat back would to take the seat out and move the mounts further back.

^ Not really. I was seriously asking if moving the seat back wasn't good enough and the Shaq comment was a joke. AND james' comment was neither sarcastic nor stupid. So this person needs to relax and get a bigger car. Common sense would tell you to not drive a car you can't fit in, now who's the unintelligent one? :owned:x2 :thefinger

I was trying to determine size difference to see if it would even be worth all the trouble of taking out all the stock components finding a nice stable mounting point further back or if not needing to fabricate some new hardware or he was just being a big baby over a inch or two. I mean come on, at a 2" difference to me what are you trying to do? Be far enough back to get your "gangsta lean" on or what?
And about being "owned" wtf is the problem? Its not rocket science. Take a look at what you are working with and ask your self about mounting surface. Also what need to go back along with the seat. Can I get the room I need by just tapping the holes a little bigger and doing a touch of a weld job or should I just move back and do a retap for new mounting or do I need to make brakets or should I just get after market seats with new brackets and sliders and factor in the new mount point with the new brackets.
You know, now that I think about it Im going to go build myself a plywood rocket today and hope it doesnt burn up on re-entry.

im 6'4" and i fit just fine in my 03 coupe with the seat all the way back. i dunno why u would want to move it even farther back....it does suck when someone is in the back seat and i have to move up and my knees are in the dash, but thats usually only for a short trip.

So let me get this straight, I am looked down upon due to me wanting to move my seat back and asking for opinions before I did it. Yes, I realize it is not rocket science, but I just thought that maybe someone has done this before and could help. I do not like to ride with the seat leaned back. I guess I will seek help from another more intelligent forum.

You know, I cant stand when people take life too seriously. Do we come off wacky and a bit off kilter? Hell yeah. I also hate people that read into things too much and only see the wrong and not the right of things. We where not trying to look down on you or anything like that we where mainly trying to get more into detail and see if this is an issue that can be corrected and save you a lot of work.
At no time where we sarcastic. You cant just say umm Im tall how can I get the seat back more and expect us to run you through it step by step. Do you need 2 inches, a foot, take part of the back seat out for the drivers seat. Is it something that can be fixed with a slight seat tweak or 3 days worth of work.
We help who we can where we can when we can but a serious mechanical forum this is not.
On a side note. This was way too serious for me so P.S.........BOOBIES!
