I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD 4.3L. I have recently noticed that when I am idling at a high speed between 60 and 70 it sputters as if I am about to run out of gas. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong? Fuel pump? Fuel injectors? Fuel regulator?

Idling ast high speed?, rethink that statement and post back what you mean.

I guess I don't know what word to use. So I will explain. If I am excelerating past 60 mph and then I let off the gas a little to stay at lets say 65 that is when it starts to sputter.

Lots of things can cause this, scan it and look for pending codes, possible egr problem, carboned up or sticking, not sure if this engine has one. Replace the fuel filter and check the fuel pressure although this would usually cause a loss of power under accel, or hard start. Tough to help here without driving the vehicle.

The engine light isn't on so i'm not for sure if any codes would show up. I just recently had an new exhaust put on. I will have the fuel filter checked and changed. Thank you for you input. I will let you know more once the filter is changed.

My :2cents: , try disconnecting the NEG battery cable for 30 minutes. This will allow the VCM (computer) to relearn whatever new exhaust system you put on. Try it and let us know............Steve
