Hey,
today I started a new project!
A Fujimi Honda CRX wich will be cleaned.
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_001%7E0.jpg
Not so many parts but I think it's fun to build between the other projects of my.
What's in the box?
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_002%7E0.jpg
Two different dashboards:
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_003%7E0.jpg
First I sanded all the molding lines. Than I removed the turn lights, doorhandles, Honda logo, wiper hole on the thrunk.
I also found an other spoiler.
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_004%7E0.jpg
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_005%7E0.jpg
I don't like that little back window. Also the big lights in the back are not my taste so I resized them.
I cleaned the whole back now :)
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_006.jpg
I also got some nice mirrors wich came from the Tamiya JACCS Accoord.
For the rims I wanted some small ones. The CRX will be build in German Style so I had to find small wheels.
I think these are nice ones :)
http://www.abbco.pl/images/felgi_aluminiowe_rh_ad_cup_140.jpg
I took these wheels from the Fujimi VW GOLF 'cox' GTI.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/body_008.jpg
I haven't found a colour yet....,so if you guys can help me...???

German Style Rex, eh? How about German Silver for a color?
I would've chosen a different wing to better compliment the rex's angular body lines. I've never seen one without that little hatch window, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out, along with the redone tail lights. It took me a minute to figure out what you did, but now I see that you removed the center portion...
I'll be watching for an update, looks good so far...

Small update:
I'll change the wheels for Pegasus M5's (mugen wheels)
I also made the mirrors and cutted out the centerhole in the frontbumper.

Looks great - you've made a good start. Who makes the kit by the way? It's one I've never seen before.
I bought my daughter one of these: she made her own modifications!!

Very badly damage.... hope your doughter wasn't hurt...
But the model is made by Fujimi. In a lot of stores you can buy this one and it's really cheap I think. (11 euro's)

Kris - I see now that you put Fujimi in your first post - sorry must have missed it.
Daughter only shocked fortunately but drives a bit more carefully now.
Keep the progress coming.

This is a neat little car and a pretty decent kit. I like what you've done so far. The only thing I'll say is that you may want to find some four-lug rims. I believe all honda cars from that era were four-lug. My first thought was that you may be able to find some suitable rims in one of the revell civic kits. Just a thought. Good luck with the kit.

I like the look of the pegasus rims. but honestly I like the first rims, but you'd need some lower profile tires for them to look right, or the same rim in a larger scale, of course still with lower profile tires. as for the body mods..to each his/her own, but I don't care for the wing, or the mirrors. the tail lights I can see being a great mod, but I'm to much of a realist, and couldn't see risking backing into someone because I didn't have the rear glass to look through.
other than that, looks like you are off to a great start. primer looks good, and it appears that you know what you are doing with the body works. I can't wait to see it done, I LOVE the CRX!!

I like the first set of rims too. Nice body work modifications, it looks really clean. What color are you doing the interior?

I also like the first set of rims but I don't have other tyres that fits around the wheels.
I also have a lot of Revell Tuner wheels but I used the tyres from that kit for an othter car.... And I have no lowprofile tyres for those wheels.
I know the crx wheels are fitted with 4 lugs (correct?) But the wheels looks great on the crx and I don't want to modify them or something else. I think details like this are not important.
I also have driven in a real crx but in real life you can't see much trough that backwindow. A class mate is building a crx in 1:1 and also wants to remove that window and make this smooth. I tryed in 1:24 :)
That wing is not glued together with the body and I will paint it separately from the body. Maybe I'll leave the wing or put it on the crx. All the things are ideas that I had when I tooke this kit. While I'm building this there are always things that will be changed :)
I don't know what interior colour I'm gonna use. The body will be orange so if you have any suggestions about the interior....(BTW I'm a bit of colour blind.... so I can't see the differents between any colours...so it's hard for me to find a nice colour combination :))

with orange paint, a light tan, or cream with cream and black interior would look great. or black and dark red.

Thanks I'll think about that colour combinations.
Yesterday I primed the body and today I had time to paint it in 4 lays of Dupli Colour Orange.
Hope you like it.

It looks more red to me, but it looks like a fine paint job! Rims look good with this color, and the rear end mod turned out great! Nice job

Today I put some Revell Tuner licence plates on the CRX.
On the back I added a D-sports decal and a N1 muffler decal.
On both doors I added 2 VTEC decals from Hiroboy's tunerdecals.

I also polished and waxed the body! I really love the shine of the paint but on this picture it's hard to see

Last few days I worked on the chassis.
I made a lowering but it's not able to see on these pics:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_002%7E1.jpg
Than I started to paint the interior.
First I painted everything flat black. Than I painted the sections in the sidepanel orange and also paint the seats in black/orange.

Than I painted the dashboard. I also painted some alu details on it. Finished it with a Fujimi sporst steeringwheel in colours like the rest of the interior.

Last days I worked on the crx. It's almost finished now :)
First I painted the windowtrims. It's something I hate to do but it turns out great.
While this was drying I painted all the light-glasses. And I also glued the interior on the chassis.
I also changed my mind and the spoiler is not welcome anymore on this car :P
And I painted the sunroof in bodycolour and it's not able anymore to show it open because I broke the ''legs''.
I get a lot of reactions about the thrunk :) Some like it, some not! I think it's very original to make it like this because i've never seen it before. And one of the reasons I did it like this is that a schoolmate is doing the same on his real car so I actually wanted to see how this looks, so I made it in scale.
