what year and how many miles? hondas are just like toyotas in terms of reliability and quality. some of toyotas cars are better, some hondas are better. the prelude is one of honda's most reliable cars with an excellent track record. you can expect the same from honda as you would with toyota. so just go at it like you would buying a toyota. actually, preludes have been known for holding their resale values better than any other honda in the US so you should be able to find a solid car one way or the other.

the one weakness i've found from reading and hearing other people's experiences is in the performance of their automatic transmissions. they're not the strongest or smoothest in operation. the 5th gen prelude SS is no exception. if i were you, i'd definately look into getting a 5 speed manual, which is among the best on the road. some people (mostly 5th gen owners) have had problems with their sunroofs. so check that out when looking. it really depends on what year prelude you're looking for. some models have things you should look out for and others not.
