High Beam/Low Beam Problems

I just intalled some new Generation II housings on my 99 civic. I got them in fine, but when testing out to see if all the lights worked, I found out that the running lights/turn signals and the high beams worked fine, but my low beams don't. I first thought that the low beam bulbs were burned out, but after swithching some wires I found that both sets of bulbs worked fine, just that the ones connected with the low beam wires didn't work. Then I thought that maybe it was just the new projector set, so I put the originals back in, but the same problem. I'm not sure if the new housings caused the problem, or if my low beams just have not been working for a while (I haven't been doing much night driving lately). So basically, my question is if anybody else has had this problem, or if anybody knows what's causing it, and possibly how to fix the problem. I really don't want to go to a mechanic, only as a last resort.

check the headlight fuse for the low beams, maybe you shorted the system when you installed the new bulbs, that fuse is either under your dash or in the engine fuse box.

Good call. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. Sure enough, both fuses were blown, so it was an easy fix. Thanks.

Damn. After replacing the fuses, my low beams worked when I checked them, but this morning went I went out and turned them on (it was raining), both were out again. I checked the fuses again, and both were blown. I'm starting to think that the new bulbs have an incorrect wattage for my lighting system. Would new headlights that match my original low beam wattage work? If not, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
