Hello troupe,

do I need to remove the fan to get at the sensor on this 1992 eagle summit 1.5?

I wouldn't take the fan shroud off. Hit the parts store and grab yourself an O2 sensor socket. Its a 7/8" socket with half of one side cut out for the wire.

Another thing I've done before, but its risky... is to cut the wires off and then use a regular socket. Problem is, if you can't get the old one out you can't drive it to the exhaust shop for help :)

To get a stuck o2 sensor, try some wd-40 or some other lubricant on the threads. Also, run the car for a minute or two to get the exhaust warm, not HOT, but warm. That helped me get my o2 sensor off my 94 accord. Looks like it was the original one on there after 160k miles. Hope that helps.
