dash kit opinions

I am looking for dash kit opinions before I buy (wood style). I got a sample from AlkaPlus which doesn't look too bad for $120. Automega's kits are twice as much but don't even carry a 5-speed trim. Oddly though, their FAQ's are the same as Alka's. Same company??
Anyway, anyone used or seen an Alka kit? Other suggestions please?

i think there as joshuwatree.com too. don't know their quality.
lately, I've been thinking about changing mine to carbon fiber trim rather than the wood on my AT.... hummmm... especially since the interior is black leather and the car is louder than any luxury sedan after my minor mods.
any recommendations for carbon fiber? thanx. :D

this guy morethanjustdashes on eBay sell's tons of dashes. My friend installed a Carbon Fiber set on his car and it looks real good. He gets a lot of compliments. And the price is around $120 which is a real good price if you ask me.

LOL! When you put something in the "homepage" field of your profile, the AF server tries to make it a link, which is fine if they start with "http://..." wickedG20 just put "workin on it" in the field, and AF thought it was supposed to be a local page named "workin on it." :hehehe:

everything, especially when u don't have any. When u'r back account is empty, cheaper things have much greater appeal. I like the trim, just don't like it for $250

Bought my kit at www.woodtrim.com aka Joshua Tree...They are very friendly and very nice product..I have a P11 and have the carbon fiber trims...They sent me the AT one so I called them and they sent me the MT right away....So I got to keep an AT piece...(gave it away) anyways putting on was a breeze...just read manual and did as it said...hardest part was aligning the pieces together perfect since the sticker is so damn sticky...don't rush and take your time or else you will regret....

btw, mine's a 01' and has that wood trim on the lower center console around the AT shift knob. i don wanna have the woods showing through the side of the carbon fiber kit around the shift lever. any good ideas? might just get me a sheet of carbon fiber decal and cover it up.
anyone know the p/no of that lower console piece around the shift knob? black color for 99's, but wood for 01's thanx. :D wanna replace it with the black one.

I ended up ordering the wood kit from joshua tree instead of alkaplus. Why? I don't know. It is twice as much money, but the site convinced me it was probably much better and worth it.
I just got the kit today and they sent me the wrong one! It appears to be for the P11's instead of my older model.
I compared it to the sample sent to me from alkaplus and the joshua is thicker making it look more like an add-on. Overall, I am not pleased with it. I have asked joshua tree for a full refund. We'll see what they do.
I am looking for a style resembling an original equip look so the carbon fiber is not for me.
I will let you know how I'm treated.

thanx for the info. guess Ill headon over to the dealer then.
yeh those adhesive trim kits do make the trims bulge out a slight bit, but thats how it is with most kits. hard to make it look factory on these add ons.
the joshua kit uses real carbon fiber, from what I hear. my bud has a kit for his honda and was very pleased with it.
hope you get a full refund and treated ok...

actually if my joshua tree kit wasn't as thick as it is...I would think it would be fake looking...the bulging actually helped my G...all the places that it was place the surfaces are sucken in more and the kit actually made it more flush and cleaner looking...everybody who has sat in my car says my kit looks better than any other kit they seen before...They say that other kits the edges are sharp and ugly looking...Joshua tree are curved in at the edges and looks cleaner and smoother...anyways thats what I think...its up to you...

The good news is that Ray at Joshua Tree is treating me well and coming up with a complete refund.
He said they have experimented with different suppliers due to demand and apparently I got crap. It's not the wrong kit, it's just cut terrible. The hole around the middle vents was a full 1/2 inch too tall and the shifter trim wasn't within a row of assholes!
Anyway they're taking the high road and taking care of everything. I'm not sure what I'm going to do next..maybe go buy some wheels instead:confused:

huh, that's weird! man, gets me kinda nervous buying from joshua tree now. ehehehe. kind of a pain if I have to start returning stuff. :(
hummm...you can get yourself some piaa's like Im gonna probably do over the weekend. :D
i think that curvature on the trims do help make the surfaces look more flush at the corners.

communicated with ray over at Joshua tree. he said that the earliest turnaround for da carbon fiber kit is 14 days from when we place the order, including shipping. not too bad. im gonna wait another few days to place the order and have it aired via fedex. :D hope by next tuesday FedEX would be running as usual.
