Who all got one. Who is actually keeping it? I got one. 1st in line at my walmart. Selling mine though.

I am curious what the big deal is to get a brand new game system when it comes out? Is it that superior to the previous one?

This is way superior to the ps 2 as of 360 and ps3 which is better, is a bad arguement waiting to happen, which i don't want. I was just curious becuase of the very small amount available.

I know someone who waited since 7pm wednesday outside a Walmart in Vermont (the ones near us had people waiting since moday) with three of his buddies. They turned down offers for $1,000 for their spot in line. Kinda crazy, but for 2 grand, who cares, its only 36 hrs of your life.

Its totally worth the wait when compaered to alternative, freezing yourself in mountain snow only to be covered by an avalanche where no on can find you in time, and remainig frozen there for 540 years.:icon16:

MY teacher said a man got killed coming out of a best buy and his ps3 taken from him. Thats so...i don't even know how to describe it. Its just as video game system. Anyhow, the only thing I can really see that makes next gen systems so great is the graphics. I still play Mario 64, so thats not a factor. Until I see some games that look so great I can't stand it, I'll stick with the PC, Ps2. and all my other "outdated" systems

What you said is completly correct. I've never been a sony fan so I just am trying to make some money on this one. But the games do look pretty good, so maybe, just maybe i'll wait and buy one later. For now, if I can exploit some rich sony fan boys dad, why not.

My roomate while at college worked for Best Buy. He had so much stuff that fell off the truck not even funny.

If I had thought of it, I woulda went out to the suburbs with my buddy and secured a spot at the head of the line on Wednesday then waited for some rich moron to pay for our spot in line. If I didn't have class to get to, I coulda done it myself.

From what I understand thiers already(before they were sold) troubles and bugs with the HD DVD features and the 60Gig is the one with lots of problems.

Pretty stupid to wait for days then just sell them. even dumber to buy them on Ebay for thoughsands of dollars.

If no one turned out for the release, those price tags would have droped , 20-30% !

old. been done with the X360, ipod, etc. Site set up for it too. i'll look for the site for the ps3. cuz they've done it and taped it. guaranteed.

I stood on line for 3 straight days. got a small break in between yesterday. ended up being too many people (several hundred) on line, even though there were only 36 systems, and to prevent a stampede, raffle tickets were handed out and 36 numbers were called out. No joke, swear to god, i was number xxx451. they called out xxx450. that's gay shit.

Any way, i don't want a ps3. fuck that shit, so many reasons i won't be owning one, ever. also, X360, i'll buy it, maybe, when halo 3 comes out. not a big halo fan, but its the best thing to play stoned. I'll definitely get the new Forza if i do get it. what i DO want is the Wii, for Mario Kart, Mario Party, and maybe the Zelda. Still, gonna wait on that too. My Super Nintendo, N64, and xbox is sufficient for now. Reason i stood on line forever was because I was paid $150 for it, and woulda been paid another $300 if i got the unit for my best friend's boyfriend.

anyway, he had a group of us "hired" to improve his chances. he walked away with 7 units. (he already sold one of his reserves, not even the unit, for $2,000 a couple days ago)

They do where I'm from, but it's only about 6-7 titles. I have yet to see the actual games, since I didn't want to get my ass handed to me by a crowd of nuts, but advertisments and people who were at stores say there were about 6-7 titles on hand.

Aside from the most retarded thing ive seen in a while, I do want a Ps3.. gunna wait though as its obvious I cant buy one without paying 4x the price. My friend said that over here some 4-6 people got stabbed/cut by a pack of dudes trying to rush to seats (Those who sat down we gunna be able to buy the ps3)

Yea I really want one too, but seeing as how it costs 1.5x my paycheck, I'm gonna have to wait until its ALOT cheaper. Till then my PS2 is keeping me plenty cozy. I know a friend of mine who 3 (One for him, and 2 of his buddies got them some) and he plans on hustlin them because he too works for Best Buy and knows when a new batch is getting shipped in. If they really are goin for that much on ebay, he's gonna make a damn killing.

I remember when Ps2 came out, the only game that was really cool was Tekken Tornament, and when Xbox came out was Halo and some racing game.

They didn't underestimate the supply,. everyone knew there was 400k coming, everyone just underestimated the demand. the friend i was wainting on line for walked out with 5 PS3's total, already sold them all.

Also, I can't wait til someone spray paints the thing silver and sells it on ebay as a "modded" PS3. (If you don't remember, when the X360 came out, some guy became fucken rich out his ass selling what was basically a gold spray painted unit. it was modded, but really nothing big. only because it was the cirst modded 360 unit, it went for so much.

i want one as soon as they're actually available on shelves, because of the socom series...i'll probably miss out on two or three installments waiting though :rolleyes:

put it this way, it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you don't have the means to pay 3x the retail for it and you really want one, then the only way you're going to get one, is to queue.

chances are, if these people can pay 3x the retail for it, they probably did very well in their economics classes (as well as other classes).

let's take the proverbial step back and look at it differently.

Sony has an update for this they said that can be downloaded once your PS3 is online...But still for that price I want no glitches.

I can't think of any recent major new product released that hasn't had any glitches in it's first year. There is after all, no test like the real world test. I seem to recall lots of xbox 360 dieing for no reason, no?

as far as i can see, they are still getting near $1000 which isn't bad... until you work out how many $ per hour it works out to be that is... but profit is still profit and the fact that they are still selling for profit shows that it isn't the demand that was underestimated. Instead it is the amount people are willing to pay was overestimated.

I saw around 13,000 current listings when I checked, all are going to sell for over $1,000.

I saw the PS3 in action yestarday . Was playing Untold Legends:Dark Kingdom & I think they had Call of Duty 3 but we didnt see that in action.

It was hooked to an HD Big screen, and I was F***'n amazzing! Teh resolution and detail were awsome ! :grinyes:

A friend of mine works at a Best Buy and some how he got one before they were for sale(pays to be a manager:gay:).

I still dont see it being worth all the hype and ca$h.

I'll wait for nest year when they are 30% off :D

I don't really see why Sony wasted their time making that stripped down version. Anybody who spends $600 for a system is obviously a game fan, so why would any game fan want the crappy version, regardless if its cheaper? Might make sense in a few respects, but overall I think they shoulda just spent their time making more of the $600 versions.
