Problem starting 92 toyota pickup

Hello all,

I'm trying to help a friend get his 92 PU started but it won't. When the key is turned to the accessory position, all electrical inside the vehicle works (radio, interior lights, etc...). When the key gets turned to the on position, all electrical cuts out, nothing, nada. Naturally, the vehicle won't start, it won't even turn over. It sounded to me like a blown fuse but my friend already checked the fuses. I thought it could also be a short in the wiring somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Faulty ignition switch? Did your friend use a test light or meter to check the fuses?

sounds to me like a bad ground, or a poor connection at the battery. more than likely bad connection at battery
