thinking about a 1970's resto project..kinda

ok heres the deal, my parents are looking into buying a 1970's stingray vette..we havent talked to neone so we dont know what year exactly. they are asking 6500, but my dad (as cheap as he is) wants to ask 4500.

But heres the deal, it needs some work. There is no radio, the dash is kinda faded, the door panels are almost falling off, there are chips and cracks in the paint, there are emblems missing on the back, the headliners on the t-tops are missing, there is no antenna, the bumber is dented and chipped. Im sure there is more to come when we look @ it closer...

and we think it runs ok...since the selllars have to drive it down the street to their house to sell it (they own a body shop down the street)

so i was wondering...is it worth the 6500/4500(if we can get it for that)
and then have to restore it kinda..???

The fairness of price of an old Vette depends greatly on the details. What options did the car come with from the factory, big block or small block, stick or auto, etc... Also, you say "1970's", by that do you mean something form the 70's or do you mean a 1970 model?

well..i didnt get to see it this weekend..but im hopin next weekend or sometime this week we will go and see it...a girl i go to school with step dad owns it. So i will probably talk to her soon and set of an appointment of sorts...and when i said 1970's car i meant it is a 70's model..not a 1970 model..although it could be...but i dunno...
