Slammed into a Roto-Rooter Truck...

Well a few of you know already, but here's what happened. I was on a busy one-way 2 lane street, and some lady put the front end of a shopping cart out into the road. The car in front slammed on their brakes, then the 2 roto-rooter trucks behind them slammed on their brakes and almost hit each other. I slammed on mine too, and ran into the back of the truck.

It obviously screwed up my hood and front bumper, and that long piece of metal between the two (what's that called?). It chipped my fiberglass fender, headlight, and bumper light, all on the passenger side. And it scratched one of my brand new jdm corners that I spent hours trying to fit in better. Since this would be considered my fault and I don't have collision, I'm not reporting it to insurance. I don't have a job and I'm pretty broke, so that makes this even worse. Here's some pics:

As you can see from that last pic, the metal support under the hood was also bent in so now it's touching the radiator. I think I'll try bending that back after I get a new hood, because if I do it now the hood probably won't latch. I was already getting a front bumper so I don't need one of those, and the fender I'm gonna at least try to fix, but everything else I mentioned is stuff I need now. If you guys have or find any of it for sale cheap, please let me know! I'd like to get a carbon fiber hood and projectors, but I doubt I'll find those very cheap at all. Still if you find those going for a good price, tell me! I guess that's it... thanks

I basically did the same thing but to the back of a Ford Focus. You will need a new Hood, new Front Filler Panel, new center frame bulkhead, new bulkhead center stay, and that would probably be it.

You may need to go enter the specific info of your car but Majestic Honda sells all those parts.

Shouldn't cost more than $250 - paint if you do it yourself.

You don't think I'd be able to just bend that metal support under the hood back into place with the right tools? I was hoping that would work...

well if you bend it back it will never look as good, for now that would be okay!! also when you do replace your hood,filler panel,fender,etc. i would suggest going with OEM parts!! you can go aftermarket, but OEM is so much better quality!! OEM would run you around 1,000 maybe even more!!! aftermarket (taiwan) would run you around $250!! So I Mean There Is A BIG Price Diff. But OEM Is So Much Better Quality!! When I Say OEM I Mean Straight From YOur HONDA Dealer!! But Hey Look At It This Way Maybe Its Time For The Carbon Fiber Hood, Z3 Fenders, Or Even The JDM Front End Conversion!!!!!!

I don't care that much about how that metal support looks since it's under the hood, and there's nothin special under there anyway. I already have z3 fenders though, and that's why they're fiberglass. I payed a lot for em so hopefully I can fix that. I can't afford a JDM front end conversion, but I want to get a carbon fiber hood if I can find a good deal. And if I get OEM parts, I'll probably get used ones since I don't have much money...

Um HondaAutomotiveParts.com is a Honda Dealer and those are all OEM parts.

As for bending things back I wouldn't risk it. Keep in mind that thing is what holds your hood from flying off and if it's not in good shape do you want to risk it flying off. Plus if it's not perfect a new hood won't be able to latch into it. Plus it's like $20, why waste time over such little money. You need that center stay to but pretty much because the original was welded together and the replacement ones bolt together.

Man, fuck dealers. When I bought my car both the bumper lenses were broken and I assumed I couldnt get any clears cause its a 4dr so I went to the dealer and they wanted $100 FOR NEW ONES!!

I said fuck that and surfed ebay hoping to find something and imigaine my suprise when I found clears. Got corners and bumpers for $30 shipped for BOTH (didnt really need corners, but hey, its gotta match)

OldSchoolHatch: If you find a hood in the bay area, and paid me well enough, I could trasport it up there for you, I already did for ami cause we were driving up to the meet. Oakland to Oregon with this strapped to the roof of my car.

Whats tight is all the sun hit the hood so the car was in the shade the whole time:D
