Unlocking Electrical connector

Ah the joys of old school cars and their simple setups:

but how do you unlock this connector? Anyone know?

Usually there is a tab that fits inside the plastic loop on the top of the plug on the lower picture. You can usually depress the tab with a thumb of a screwdriver blade while gently pulling the plugs apart.
