here is the deal.... bought an 88 crx dx for 1,000 bucks. the problem with it is this,,,,,,, the instrument lights, rear running lights, and parking lights dont work. the headlights and brakelights work fine. the #8 fuse pops as soon as i turn on the parking lights. I unplugged the cluster, and all bulbs that arent working to see if one of the sockets was the problem and it still pops the fuse. any suggestions?

yep. Have you looked around at any of the harnesses that are underneath the carpet? I have found several people that have mounted an amp or cd changer behind the seats against that little wall and have hit a wire with a screw in the process.you could also try taking the lights out one at a time to see if it still blows the fuse. That may help depending on which wire is shorted.

i think its the switch in the steering column. does that sound like that could be it?

there is defidently a wire hitting ground somewhere in your car...i had the same problem, it was one of the tallight wires rubbing again the body and blew my fuse cause there was a little bit of bare wire exposed.

trytaking all your brake/tail lights out...install one at a time till the fuse pops that could help if its a bulb wire popping the fuse.
