The 3.4's don't put that much out but a Intake and exhaust is a good way to start on any motor.i here headders are good for the 3.4's also. Do a tune up as well. And clean out the throttle body and get a new fuel filter. Just doing a tune up can gain some hp.

You'll be putting more money in the car than the car is worth though.

well the car had a tune up before we got the car so i might be able to look into headers because we can put something like that ourselfs and it will only be like in the 300's bucks range
the hi-flow cold air intake will be like in the 200s but i think im goping to look into some headers the main thing i wont is to get to like 200 horse power its a stock at like 160

a intake will not be $200, thats to high. Just get a cheep one off ebay but make sure it goes down fair enuf. all the intakes are the same diamitor so just get one off ebay. You can find one with a K&N filter for about $60.

I'd watch out on ebay, there's a lot of crap on there if you don't know exactly what you're looking for.
I say go all out for the search for power and get a blower. That will surprise a lot of people out there.

I've put a cold air intake, headers, !cat, Borla cat-back, aluminum driveshaft, and a polished throttle body on my 3.4.. simply put, it's still slow, and it's still way under 200rwhp.
~ If you have a tight budget, then you'll definately wan't to start off with a cold air intake. I always highly recommend the SLP CAI, due to it's very effecient design, it ranges normally a little above $200.
~ Then I would suggest doing a cat-back, which I would recommend going with Magnaflow. It's very affordable, and is one of the best flowing out there. Ranges normally from $350->$400
~ There's really almost no reason to go for headers unless you really plan on building the engine up quite a bit. Mine pretty much only gave me a more agressive sound. Not to mention they are a complete PITA, especially Pacesetter's. If you do go this route and get them, definately go with RKSport's headers.
~ The aluminum driveshaft is also a great mod to do, and relatively cheap as well. You can get them for a great price from John (aka FormulaLT1) here on the forum.
Definately my main suggestion to you is.. if you're going to go cheap, then don't go at all. Things like those $20 ebay intakes, a cheap knock off cat-back exhaust, and other things will only hold you back, and you'll regret it late on down the road. Trust me, I know. I have my ebay intake being used as a coffee table center piece.

Well I'm not sure how much rwhp I gained from it, but once I got it on, it felt almost as if the entire time before that I had been driving with the e-brake halfway up. My car just took off after that, as if you just took a fat guy out of the back seat.
