So after calling every transmission shop here in town to see if anyone here works on them....they all said that my car makes too much power and they dont work on them....so it looks like its between TRE and Shep....I know both are very reputable in the community of DSM's how does everyone like their trannys that have been built by these guys...I am trying to figure out which one to go with.....

Shep FTW. I've never heard a bad thing about either, but most people I ever hear about get a Shep.

I <3 my Shep tranny. lol

Here is how tough his trannys are... My stage 1 that was installed by a different mechanic put the wrong fluid in and it was too thick for a dsm tranny. My tranny went 6 months without being properly lubricated and me beating on it day in and day out. Trust me. Shepherds tranny will take ANYTHING you throw at it.

Now I have a stage 2 with some oddball parts from a stage 3. (I guess you could call it a stage 2.5? lol) I got to drive it for 25 miles before my motor crankwalked and it felt even stronger than my stage 1. (If its possible. lol)

lol.....well it looks like Shep is in the lead at this point...I need to figure out how much they will charge me for the intermediate shaft because I shattered the gear that is pressed on there....and I dont think that is included in Sheps stages till like stage 3....

Its ok. You can go with even a stage 1 and he will replace the intermediate shaft if it needs to be. He inspects every single piece in that tranny and puts nothing bad or possibly going bad back into it. That is why he is the best and you never hear of people having problems with his tranny. The best in quality work right there.

I have heard that TRE is very busy. I am going to support Shep when it is time to upgrade after the swap is completed. I like the fact that he is out there running his DSM keeping a 1g in the news and testing his products in a race enviroment.

I think that after all of this I am actually going to give TRE a try...I am going to go for their stage 2 performance exchange service....it has everything I am looking for....

I have a stage Shep tranny. It's the stage 2 build with Quafe LSD. Id go with Shep just becasue they have great customer support and a fantastic product! Plus, who can forget the Lifetime warranty on their Quafe LSD (with race use)
Def go with Shep!

TRE or Shep will both do, they both offer excellent trannys. With your mod list, it's just a price and opinion game then being as you aren't looking at any major upgrade.

I've heard only good stuff about both those trannies, wherever I've researched. Also, both places have excellent customer service. Looks like a win-win either way.

I am really only shooting for 350hp in this car...at least till I can find a better daily driver...so I think this is a good choice in this situation...
