I am going to replace the tensioner on my 2003 Ranger XLT 3.0. I was just wondering if there were any special tools needed or any tricks to getting it done right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's simple to replace that component. I suggest to remove any crossover components to allow clear access to the unit. I believe you need a 3/8 socket bar to overcome the spring and remove the serpentine belt. I have a complete OE repair manual but if you get one of those Chilton repair book it explains the procedure clearly.
