Like jonnsons post my 1995 lumina minivan cuts out while driving. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are going it will just cut out. It does restart right away everytime. We have taken it to a mechanic who had the minivan for a week and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. He stated that they had the diagnostic machine hooked up but that the vehicle wouldn't die long enough to register any codes.
He also stated that it could be one of 3 things, the crank shaft, the ignition module and one other thing. My husband and I purchased an ignition module and replaced it. The vehicles runs horrible now worse than when the other ignition module was in. It acts like it is going to die but doesn't the lights all dim. The service engine light is on now and doesn't go off.
Any suggestions??????

If you put in a different module and it is running horrible and the SES light is on. That must mean that a plug wire got crossed when you installed it and your vehicle is misfiring. Check to make sure your firing order is correct. If you are certain this didn't happen had you put the old module back in yet?
Also If you just got a replacement module with the coil packs already in place there may be a bad coil in that pack? Please no negative replies. If you are beyond this scope of this than carry on with your endeauvours. Thankyou.
