b16 wiring

hi everyone, I'm not new here, I just haven't been here in about a year and forgot my username and password.

Anyways, I have a question I have a 91 civic hb and a b16a2 engine that I am installing. This has been confusing me, some one told me I need use my stock wiring harness and just buy an adaptor for the ecu to the main wiring harness. some one else told me I need to go and buy a crx si wiring harness b/c my stock wiring harness does not have the 4 plugs needed. then I have read that I have to send my stock harness in and have it rewired. All of this has confused me and I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be great.

What model civic is the first thing we need to know. DPFI or MPFI?

-convert your car's wiring to mpfi
-add vtec solenoid, vtec oil pressure, 2nd o2 sensor, and knock sensor wiring
-extend the fan switch wiring from the back of the block to it's new location on the B16a2's thermostat
-buy and use an OBD0 B16 distributor and OBD0 B16 ecu (PR3 or PW0)
-install engine
-fire her up and drive away

So to add in the vtec solenoid, vtec oil pressure switch, 2nd o2 sensor and the knock sensor I need to buy a harness right? Should it be obd0 to obd1 or obd0 to obd2? sorry for all the question, i'm just trying to get informed on all this electricial aspects of this. but thanks for all your help

No. You can't use a different harness. You have to use your stock harness, and just add the extra plugs and wires. It's not difficult at all.

if you dont want to mess with the wiring check out rywire.com cuz they prefab harnesses for vtec, ecus, pretty much anything. i went thru them when i did my b16 swap but im gonna try makin my own this time for the mini-me.

hey bambam how much would you charge for a vtec subharness? im puttin a a6 bottom/z6 top mini-me into my hatch and im pretty sure thats all i need besides an ecu. am i gonna have to lengthen my fan switch like i did when workin on the b16 or will those meet up since its d series.

Shit man...I can't even remember my own prices. I know, that's sad. Just click the image in my sig and go to the EF section on my site. Whatever it is, you won't find any cheaper price anywhere.
